MIM paramodels paragliding rc – Who We are

MIM paramodels was founded in 2008 and is the first Italian company specialized exclusively in the study, design and production of small-scale radio-controlled paragliders ( rc paragliders )

MIM paramodels is the name I wanted to give to this project in honor of the people who have always supported me in this passion, my father Mariano whom I will always carry in my heart and my mother Marika!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Ivan Appoloni. I have been a free flight enthusiast since, at the age of 6; I started by following my father during his excursions in the small Dolomites.

So it was that I first got to know hang gliding and then paragliding. I know this sport very well and have followed its evolution from the very beginning. I have been paragliding since 1992 and I have had the opportunity to explore this sport at 360 degrees having practiced it in all its forms, from flight (cross country flight) , to “hike and fly” up to the most extreme acrobatic flight.

I was a member of the Italian paragliding national team and I have always distinguished myself for excellent results in competition.

I have long since abandoned competitions to devote myself totally to the study and development of my rc paragliders projects.

In 2001 I graduated in mechanical engineering from the University of Padua specializing in computer-assisted design techniques, structural analysis FEM (finite element method).

My passion for paragliding also led me to work for some time as an instructor and tandem pilot in the most important paragliding school in the USA (Torrey Pines Gliderport San Diego-CA).

I will continue together with the people who support me to commit myself to develop this hobby to levels never seen before and to put the fruit of my studies, my passion and my experience at the service of all those who want to approach the fantastic world of radio-controlled paragliding with the right foot.
